Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my 36th birthday!  That's ridiculous, mainly because I still question if I'm even an adult.  There are times when I still don't feel old enough to be in charge of two rambunctious boys.  I don't feel old enough to make adult decisions like buying a new home, and how can this possibly be my 14th year in the classroom?  This just goes to show us that life really does fly by.  My birthday is obviously close to the new year.  Usually I try and make very specific new year's resolutions, but this year I kept it simple.  My resolution is simply to be better than I was last year.  I want to be a better wife, mom, and teacher.  I want to be more present in all of those roles.  Basically improvement equals success.

Back to my birthday...unless you're a teacher you really have no idea how awesome birthdays are at work.  I got so many happy birthdays today from my students, former students, and faculty.  Aren't small schools awesome!  Word really gets around.  I had a teacher friend bring me breakfast and my favorite sonic drink.  Another friend brought me a mint brownie and hot chocolate.  Did I tell you I lost 2.4 pounds last week in my quest for a "better" me?  Wish me luck this week...I'm going to need it!  Russel, the hubs, even packed my lunch for me this morning.  He also got me the funniest card.  We're terrible at picking out serious aka sappy cards.  Add to that a hobby lobby gift card and a special letter, and I was left feeling like one very special wifey.

This little blog will be where I post updates about our family.  Feel free to subscribe for email updates if this interests you. However, it's main purpose is to document these memories for myself. I don't have a lot of time, so I probably won't proofread anything, and I obviously ramble...lol.  I don't want to think too much about my posts, or I will never keep up this blog.  I'm basically perfectly imperfect!

Currently I'm sitting on the couch, wrapped up in my favorite blanket catching up on the first episode of "The Bachelor."  Life can't get better than this!
